Lately I've just been going into the gym and kinda doing whatever. For once, I am just doing what I want & when I want to. No mandatory training split or plan. Don't get me wrong I will probably get back to a regular split when I get home after holiday break, but for now this is feeling good and I am feeling strong. Letting go of the routine and control for a little bit has been good for me, my mind, and my body.
With that being said, heres todays random leg/glute workout...
Warmup:
10 minute incline walk on the treadmill at a moderate pace & some light stretching
Full Leg Workout:
5x8-12 Sumo Deadlifts
3x12 RDL's using the free weight bar (feet inclined on plates)
Superset:
3x10 Banded Side Kicks
3x15 Single Leg Dumbbell RDL
3x15 Smith Machine Hip Thrusters
Superset:
3x15 Lying Leg Curl
3x12 (each leg) Leg Extensions
Superset:
3x20 Cable Squat with Rope
3x20 Standing Calf Extensions
3x15 (each leg) Single Leg Cable Kickbacks (using step/short box for a small incline and different range of motion)
Burnout/Cooldown:
1x25 Banded Kickbacks (each leg)
5 minutes on the bike - moderate/slow pace
This workout kicked my butt, literally!! (peep the GIF lol). I've really grown to love leg day. My primary focus has been growing my glutes and legs throughout this bulk and yah girl has been doing just that. Being on break and not in school gives me a little extra time and focus in my workouts and allows me to tweak things here and there to perfect my form. Focus on your movements and contractions. Don't feel like you have to be lifting the heaviest weight. Lift enough weight to grow, but don't ever sacrifice your form for weight. Enjoy!! Tag me on insta or DM me if yah try it out. I'd love to know what ya'll think.
